This coming 15th of May I'll be presenting my work regarding redistribution preferences and income determinants at the National University in Bogotá Colombia. Looking forward to all the great commments!
I am really looking forward to discuss the highly interesting papers made by latin-american researchers using the Longitudinal Survey of Social Protecion (ELPS by the spanish acronym) of the IDB and the Observatory of Social Security for Latin-America and the Caribean. "Let´s tackle the problems of pensions in Latin america by understanding them in depth"
This year I am going back to the ESA North American Meetings to present a new experiment done with Robert Oxoby looking at the differences of earnings sharing decisions between workers earning their income by effort or luck. The results are preliminary, but we think may be pointing out to an important part of the divide between stated and actual redistribution behavior. I'm looking forward to meet you all.
Delighted to have the opportunity to meet once again some of the most influential researchers in the questions of Poverty and Uncertainty. Professor’s Deaton’s work on the measurement of Poverty has been fundamental at deepening our understanding of poverty and challenging people’s misperceptions about the conditions and circumstances that the poor have to face every day in their lives. And, the work by Professors Spence and Stiglitz on the central role of asymmetries of information in the functioning of economies stresses the role of uncertainty in how we design policies. Having the opportunity to share with them and the other participants in the course will be invaluable to the further development of my research. By the way, if anyone is at Milan on the 11th, I would be glad to meet.
On this occasion I am bringing my paper about segregation and social learning to the CEAs. I missed last year's meeting, so this year I am really exited about meeting my conference mates once again. Now, you will have to wake up early if you want to attend my talk as I will be part of the group initiating the conference, Friday at 8:30 a.m. I'll be expecting you and all your comments. See you.
After having found my previous interactions with political scientists very useful and insightful. I have now decided to attend one conference of mostly political scientists. This April I will bet a the 2016 MPSA at Chicago looking forward to face a different toke on my research about individual formation of beliefs regarding the role of effort in determining high incomes and its relationship to social segregation. I am also really looking forward to meet with friends I met at WESSI and the Models of Behavioral Politics conference.
I am delighted to have the opportunity to present my paper "Luck vs Effort: Learning about Income from Different Friends and Neighbours" at the School of Information. This is an ideal venue, not only for the outstanding quality of the researchers based at the school of information, but also because my model focuses on how individuals learn from their societies. I am looking forward for all the comments that I might receive in my upcoming visit.
I am glad to be going back to Antigua. I really like this conference as all presentations are attended by all and sufficient time is always given so the feedback received is always very useful. This time I am presenting a new project that I have been working with Carrie Xu from the University of Michigan in Ann arbor. This is an experimental design looking into the capacity that individuals have to discover when the information they receive by observing others is systematically biased according to the learning experiences they themselves live.
